TAKOM 2091 1/35 R.O.C.ARMY CM-11 (M-48H) W/ERA BRAVE TIGER MBT PLASTIC MODEL KIT
At the beginning of the Burmese battlefield in the late World War II , the armored forces of the Republic of China Army mostly used American armored vehicles. Until the late 1980s, although the main U.S. military aid tank M-48 was equipped with upgrades, it could no longer meet the needs of future combat power.
In 1984, the Army Tank Development Center cooperated with General Dynamics to develop the second-generation main tank, named CM-11 Brave Tiger.
CM-11, is the first type of tank developed by the Republic of China Army, also known as M-48H H stands for Hybrid (Hybrid). It uses an American-made M-60A3 tank with the existing M-48 turret, and upgrades the main gun and A special-edition vehicle with a fire control system. A total of 450 vehicles were produced. It has been in service since the 1990s and is the main battle vehicle of Taiwan’s first line.
The main difference from the M-48/M-60 Patton series is the combination of the turret and the chassis on the exterior. The main gun is upgraded to the American M-68A1 105mm, with the American M1A1 gun shooting control system of the same level, and thermal imaging. Cameras, laser rangefinders, etc. have greatly improved the ability to observe and aim, and the performance surpasses M-60A3.
The commander tower on the turret uses the URDAN commander tower developed by Israel , and is equipped with a 50 anti-air machine gun. The loader side is equipped with a semi-circular self-defense general machine gun. Two smoke bomb launchers are added to the front of the turret, and atmospheric data sensing is added to the rear. Rod.
In order to improve the protection of anti-tank weapons , the Zhongshan Academy of Sciences developed a reactive armor block in the 2000s with reference to the French design.
