HORNBY HO/OO GBRF/BELMOND ROYAL SCOTSMAN CLASS 66 CO-CO, 66743 ERA 11
Introduced in 1985 by the operating company, Great Scottish & Western Railway Co. (GS&WR), since 2005 the overnight luxury train has been run by Belmond Ltd. Initially hauled by West Coast Railways using Class 37, 47 or 57 locomotives, since 2016 GBRf have held the haulage contract; two Class 66 locomotives being dedicated to the train: 66743 and 66746. Both locomotives carry the Belmond Royal Scotsman maroon livery, featuring the GS&WR crest, which was applied during April/May 2016 at Arlington Fleet Services’ Eastleigh works. 66746 entered traffic on 11th April and 66743 followed shortly after, on 30th May.
