CHROME PARTS – RUBBER TIRES – COLOR INSTRUCTIONS
The 700 series constituted, during the 1980s, the top of the range of Volvo’s automotive production. Introduced in 1982, it was characterized by great attention to detail and the high level of finishing in line with the “premium” positioning it was supposed to have on both the European and American markets. The first model to be produced was the Volvo 760. Available at the start of production in the sedan configuration, it was characterized by a design with clean, square lines and a vertical rear window. The “powertrain” was developed on two 6-cylinder engines, petrol injection with a V layout and a displacement of 2,849 cm3, and a 6-cylinder in-line turbodiesel of 2,383 cm3. In 1985 the range expanded with the introduction of the station wagon version, which had good commercial success on some European markets thanks to the good relationship between comfort and versatility. The range of engines was also expanded with the introduction of a new petrol-powered and turbocharged engine.
