The Volkswagen Golf is an icon of the Wolfsburg car manufacturer’s production. It was presented in the spring of 1974 and immediately became a very successful product. The first series (1974-1983) in fact adopted technical solutions that were highly appreciated by the market of the time: water-cooled front engine, front-wheel drive, solid and robust bodywork with a functional but at the same time attractive design. At the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1975, the Golf GTI sports version was presented which adopted the 1,600 cc 110 HP engine capable of delivering high performance.
