ITALERI 1/72 GLADIATOR FIGURES
The practice of gladiatorial combat quickly spread throughout Roman culture. Its origin is to be linked to the munus, that is, to the practice of the wealthiest people and in view of offering public shows to the people on the occasion of anniversaries, parties and events. Emperor Vespasian was responsible for the construction of the largest amphitheater in the world intended for gladiatorial games: the Flavian amphitheater, better known as the Colosseum. The fights often took place between different pairs of gladiators: the Mirmilloni, the Thracians, the Scutores, the Reziari. Each characterized by its own peculiarities and equipment.
