COBI WORLD WAR II – FLAKPANZER IV WIRBELWIND (590 PIECES)
The Flakpanzer IV Wirbelwind, or “Whirlwind”, is a German self-propelled anti-aircraft gun from the end of World War II. It was built on the chassis of the most popular tank of the Third Reich – Panzer IV. Production falls on November 1944. The chassis of the older Panzer IV or newer versions, withdrawn from the front for repairs, were rebuilt. The traditional turret was replaced by a polygonal open turret equipped with a 20mm Flak 38 quadruple anti-aircraft gun. The rotating turret turned out to be very effective against infantry. Due to the dramatic situation of the Third Reich, the production of this weapon was limited to only 87-105 copies.
We will build the Wirbelwind self-propelled anti-aircraft gun model based on the Panzer IV chassis from as many as 585 high-quality COBI building blocks. A faithfully reproduced vehicle from the World War II period has been covered with prints that do not clash during intense play. The set also includes two figurines of German soldiers. The shooter is equipped with binoculars. The Luftwaffe footman is equipped with a Mauser rifle. Many movable elements, such as the tank turret, barrels, rotating wheels and tracks as well as tilting service flaps hiding the engine dummy, allow for great fun for all the youngest military enthusiasts. Adult collectors and fans of history and armor will surely decorate their exhibition with this model. The whole thing is completed with a brick with the printed model name.
