The Austrian Otto Lilienthal, just like Leonardo da Vinci, is carefully studying the flight of birds and published in 1889 The flight of birds who is considered as the basis for the art of the flight and in which he described his future gliders that he’ll eventually build.
He then designed a glider of wood and canvas (as Leonardo da Vinci had imagined) on which he was suspended in the armpits and her legs hung in a vacuum; and he élançât to the top of a Hill: he traveled several meters by rocking his body of back and forth to lead his machine before landing. During the flights that they will perform, he will learn to lead his glider using the ancestries, and can even make turns!
