HWS 1/16 Muzzle Brake for Sturmgeschutz StuG III / PzKpfw IV – Late Production

Hearns Workshop Muzzle Brake for Sturmgeschutz Stug III / PzKpfw IV – 1pcs, 1 type (HWS0093-16) for the Late Production version.

The 7.5 cm KwK 40 L/48 was fitted to all Stug III Ausf F/8 to G and featured a muzzle brake of various designs, depending on the production date and manufacturer. The same designs were also utilised on the Panzerkampfwagen IV (Panzer 4).

As with the 7.5 cm Pak 40, the muzzle brake of the KwK 40 and StuK 40 went through a series of design changes. Five types of muzzle brakes were used, gradually increasing the area of exposure to the blast. The designs progressed from tubular type double baffle muzzle brakes to single baffle ball shape muzzle brakes, which proved to be insufficient in reducing recoil, followed by a double flange type from May 1943. The front flange and rear disk type was used from March 1944, followed finally by the double disc type.

DISCLAIMER – Parts are manufactured from a UV curing resin. Cyanoacrylate(CA) or “Super Glue” recommended for bonding to rigid PS/ABS or other resin parts. UV curing resins can be an irritant. Always use the appropriate safety gear when handing or modifying. Parts are supplied still attached to the supports/raft. Care must be taken when removing supports. 3D printing IS NOT injection molding! Slight imperfections and the visible appearance of ‘layer lines’ in places is perfectly normal and not a defect. ‘Tough’ grade resin parts can damage fine bladed side cutters – use at own risk.
