ITALERI 1/24 JEEP WILLYS MB 80TH ANNIVERSARY
RUBBER TYRES – COLOR INSTRUCTIONS
In 1940, with the world war already begun, the United States General Staff announced a competition for the construction of a light four-wheel drive vehicle that could be used for numerous uses. The American Bantam Company, Willys Overland Motor and Ford Motor Co participated in the race. The choice fell on the Willys model, which, after a pre-series of 1500 vehicles starting in 1941, was put on the assembly lines and produced in 640,000 examples , of which 277,000 were licensed by Ford. This means that the “Jeep” was the vehicle built in the largest number of examples by the war industry during the Second World War.
