The Douglas A-4 Skyhawk was developed in the 1950s and was one of the most famous and widespread light attack aircraft in the history of aviation. Its small and compact size made it extremely maneuverable and ideal for use on aircraft carriers. It was characterized by a simple design, with the characteristic low delta wings and small lateral air intakes, but extremely functional for operational uses. With the adoption of the Pratt & Whitney J52 turbojet engine the Skyhawk could reach 1,170 km/h. Armed with two 20 mm cannons, it could carry a lethal offensive load consisting of air-to-air missiles, air-to-surface missiles, rockets and free-fall bombs. Thanks to its operational characteristics, the A-4 had considerable commercial success. In addition to the United States, it was used, among others,
